Much of child sexual abuse is predictable and preventable when we surround children with knowledgeable and outspoken adults and we all play a part in the solution! We may not be able to stop every incident of abuse but the more adults who understand how abuse happens and are willing to intercede on behalf of kids, the more children will be protected. We are in this together so please take some time and post your story and what drives your interest in prevention.

Childhood sexual abuse is a crime that happens in relationship. So what better way for a child molester to gain access to children and cultivate a relationship than to work or volunteer in a youth-serving organization. This includes schools, sports leagues, faith groups, scouts, boys and girls clubs, arts programs, etc. It is essential that all youth-serving organization staff understand how abuse happens and how to prevent it. This forum category was created to share prevention best practices in youth-serving organizations and prepare parents to have an informed dialog with the organizational leadership where their children participate.
